Picking mushrooms in a pine forest is the perfect autumn outdoor activity – but first you need to be sure you get the right ones, that's why when I run wild edible mushroom tours I only ever talk about two species: SAFFRON MILK CAPS (Pine Mushrooms) and SLIPPERY JACKS
When out in the forest (or fields) you are really only just going to pick the one you know, the one you are confident about edibility and that have been described and tested and have been eaten by generations of mushroomers.
Join me in a half day tour walking throughout the beautiful pine forest and learn how to identify edible mushrooms whilst locating, identifying and photographing other mushrooms specimens.
My first experience walking through the forest with a basket finding my favourite mushrooms soon became a favourite hobby, the sounds and smells of the forest is enough to drain away all major stresses.
Your host will also prepare Mushroom Bruschetta for guests to enjoy with a wine selected from the Coonawarra Wine Region.
Once you empower yourself with the key features of the two edibles you cannot make mistakes, and that's where you want to be.
