Wine and Dine Tour


Enjoy a full day tour with a difference.

Be picked up from your choice of location in the Penola/Coonawarra area free of charge at 1:00pm and attend a boutique style tour of the Coonawarra Wine Region in our roomy, comfortable vehicle that seats seven guests, you may select your own choice of cellar doors or we can assist you, It is expected that five cellar door outlets will be visited during the afternoon.

Break for a delicious cheese platter which will be served in one of the beautiful gardens along the route. Cool bottled water is offered during the day so palates are not too overloaded between tastings.

You will be treated to local history about the origins of Coonawarra, view the soil profile out in the vineyards that normally you would not be able to find if you didn’t know where to look and sample the amazing Coonawarra wines. The ultimate way to see the best that Coonawarra has to offer.

You will then be transported to a 3 or 4 course dining experience at Mayura Station's famous specialist wagyu beef restaurant, The Tasting Room. While you are seated at the chefs table Mayura's in-house chef will prepare your dishes in a unique interactive format providing a first class experience including the history of Wagyu as well as how to prepare, cook and savour Mayura's full-blood Wagyu Beef.

Mayura Station is an award-winning beef producer with one of Australia's largest full-blood Wagyu herds. Wagyu is said to be the world's best beef, and Mayura Station has been named as one of the world's best producers. The Tasting Room is set on a farm overlooking paddocks of grazing cattle with distant views of Canunda National Park and the sand dunes of the Limestone Coast and is arguably South Australia’s best steak restaurant.

Due to high export demands for Mayura's product, many of the cuts of Mayura's Wagyu Beef served during your dining experience are not available for purchase in Australia providing an added incentive to visit and sample these prized steaks. The Tasting Room is fully licenced and wines are chosen from The Limestone Coast Region, including the acclaimed Coonawarra, to match the menu being served.

The Tasting Room is open for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with luncheons subject to availability.
